Our Mission: From Parenting Struggles to Proactive Health
How many times have you asked your children if they brushed their teeth, assumed they were fibbing, and asked to smell their breath just to verify?
As a busy parent and dental professional, it has always been of the utmost importance to me to establish a proper toothbrushing regimen for my children. However, once I began teaching them to brush, it was nearly impossible to make it happen without a battle.
This struggle motivated me to find a solution that would get my children engaged in their oral hygiene routine. I wanted a way to know—beyond a shadow of a doubt—that they had not only brushed but brushed properly. Even with my background in the dental industry, this felt like a pipe dream. I realized that if I was having this problem, most other households were likely struggling too.
More Than Just a Nice Smile
It has been proven time and again that the mouth is directly linked to overall health. From heart attacks to Alzheimer’s, many conditions start in the mouth with periodontal disease. According to the CDC, almost 50% of adults aged 30 and older have some form of periodontal disease. Needless to say, how well you brush impacts the quality and longevity of your life.
Habits rule our lives. By the time you hit your forties, you have brushed your teeth well over 30,000 times. Over those decades, you develop muscle memory that causes you to consistently hit and miss the same teeth. Being able to see exactly how you brush is not only an eye-opener but a potential medical lifesaver.
Finding a Solution That Fits
What started as a desire to stop the "brushing battles" quickly turned into a mission to preserve the health of families everywhere.
We started looking for solutions but found a gap in the market. Affordable products weren't functioning at a high level, while high-end smart brushes didn’t excite our kids. In some cases, the size and stiffness of these so-called "designer" brush heads did more damage than good. We needed a convenient, fun, and effective solution that made sense for the whole family.

BLÜ™ Toothbrush was created to make brush time fun and interactive, making preventative dental hygiene accessible for every family. We designed a tool that ensures proactive health habits are formed early and maintained for life.
